Screenwriter Cami Delavigne works across film and television, getting her start as the co-writer of the Oscar-nominated film Blue Valentine with Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. Since then, she’s built a career in TV, writing on Homecoming, The Son, Quantico, New Amsterdam, Kevin Can F*** Himself, and American Gigolo, along with mini-rooms and original pilots for HBO and Sundance Channel. She’s also spent over a decade teaching at top U.S. film schools, including NYU, LMU, and AFI.
In 2020, she launched Screendancing — a somatic approach to storytelling that embraces the philosophy that movement is essential to creativity. It’s better to jump up and down than stare at a blank page.
Cami offers one-on-one script consultations for original features and TV pilots where she encourages writers to focus on character behavior, emotional arcs, and what makes the story distinctly YOU. Her generous, high-energy approach “has a way of inspiring vast, amorphous creativity and spark.”
Screendancing is a movement-based approach to writing. What started out as a choreographed dance workout before a writing class has morphed into virtual and in-person writing classes and bootcamps with a twist. For more information, click here . IG: @screendancing

“This class is a joy. Finally, screenwriting from a female perspective! And you begin by getting out of your chair and moving; a great way to get out of your head and onto the page. Cami offers clear tools…with less testosterone! You will love it!”
—Shira Piven (Director, Welcome to Me)
“Cami’s class not only provided a much-needed sense of community and connection through movement and words during a pandemic, it offered a practical and relatable approach to Screenwriting. I also loved that its perspective was from the point of view of classically female tropes and feelings, a fresh break from all the more typical masculine-heavy, action-driven approaches I’ve encountered before.”
—Adrea Rose
“Screendancing is a workout for your body and mind! The dance workout put me in a different headspace that made me more open to learning, more excited about writing, and more energized to face the blank page. I’m a professional screenwriter and I got a lot out of this class!”
